My Adult Yarn

I have not been on a real date in over a year. My girlfriends like to call me Lanie the nun. Sometimes I actually do feel like a nun, after all what else do you call a girl who stays home every night while all her friends are going out and dating as many guys as possible? It's not that I don't like dating and having fun, it's more like I don't do it because I never get asked out. A few years ago I got my heart broken really badly by an ex and since then I guess all of the passion went out of me. The times that I did date after that break up guys never called me for a second date and once I heard it was because I was a cold fish.

I think I know why that guy said that about me. It's true though, I am nota big believer in having sex with someone just because you are dating. I think there has to be love in a relationship for that to happen and the guy that said that got really mad when he tried doing it and I stopped him. It certainly didn't tickle my fancy to sleep with him because he had bought me dinner, so by the next day he was off and running with a bunch of really mean gossip about me. That is another thing that I hate about dating, all the dram that accompanies it when things don't work out with someone.

So now I am a bit scared to go through it all again. I know that if I continue to stay at home I won't get hurt but if I do that I might end up an old spinster and I don't want that for myself either. I promised myself that by the end of this week I am going to do something about my love life. I am still trying to decide whether I should give internet dating sites a try or maybe I can go to a speed dating event. I know there are many different methods now for finding a partner and I am determined that by the end of the week I will be on the way to finding one. Although I am scared I am also looking forward to sharing my life with someone and I hope I find that person soon.
